10. Make sure faucets are not leaking gas if it wanted to use the Bunsen.
Make sure the tap water and gas are always in a state closed to the before and after the lab is complete.

EMERGENCY TREATMENT

A. Exposed to chemicals
1. Do not panic.
2. Enlist the help of your colleagues who are near you.
3. See MSDS data.
4. Clean the part that had direct contact (laundry section having direct contact with water if possible).
5. If the skin exposed to chemical substances, do not be scratched in order not to spread.
6. Take place enough oxygen.
7. Call the paramedics as soon as possible (doctors, hospitals).

B. Fires
1. Do not panic.
2. Take the CO2 gas cylinder when the fire was probably extinguished.
3. Tell your friends.
4. Avoid using elevators.
5. Avoid smoke mengirup directly.
6. Close the door to prevent the fire grow quickly (not locked).

• triangle bandage
• netting fabric
• tweezers
• Scissors, pins, etc.

HANDLING WASTE
Disposal
After completing an experiment the chemical waste that is used should be disposed in the spaces provided, do not directly discharged into sewerage (wasbak) because it may cause pollution to the environment. Waste organic matter should be disposed of separately in the space provided for recyclable solid waste should be disposed of separately as they may cause blockage. Liquid waste is not dangerous but can be disposed of be diluted with water sufficiently.
1. Dispose of chemical waste material remaining after the completion of observation.
2. Dispose of waste according to the following categories:
a. Liquid waste that is not soluble in water and toxic waste must be collected in the reservoir bottle. This bottle must be sealed and clearly labeled.
b. Solid waste such as filter paper, litmus, matches, broken glass and discarded in the trash.
3. Soap, detergents and liquids are not dangerous in the water can be discharged through the channel langusng dirty water and rinsed with water sufficiently.
4. Use of chemicals to taste

DATA BASE SMELLING , TOXIC CHEMICALS

Many type chemicals (smell, dangerous, toxic) can be classified as follows:
a. Easy to explode (explosive)
b. Oxidizing (oxidizing)
c. Very easy to burn (highly flammable)
d. Easily lights (flammable)
e. Very, very toxic (extremely toxic)
f. Very toxic (highly toxic)
g. Toxic (moderately toxic)
h. Dangerous (harmful)
i. Corrosive (corrosive)
j. Are irritation (irritant)
k. Harmful to the environment (dangerous to the environment)
l. Carcinogenic (carcinogenic)
m. Teratogenik (teratogenic)
n. Mutagenic (mutagenic)
FAQ (frequently asked question)
1. How to work in the laboratory?
Work begins with the preparation include a journal (working procedure), for chemicals to be used, and understand what will be done in the work must be serious and with proper preparation.
2. Why safety lab?
Laboratory is a place where students, lecturers, researchers, etc. to experiment. Experiments were performed using various chemicals, glassware and special instrumentation which can cause accidents if done in a way that is not appropriate. The accident may also occur due to negligence or carelessness of work, this can make the person injured, and even for the surroundings. Work safety in the laboratory is a yearning for individuals who are aware of the interests of health, safety and comfort of work. Working with a safe and secure means reducing the risk of accidents. Although the safety instructions already written work in any practical guidance, but this needs to be explained again and again to further enhance individual vigilance when working in the laboratory.
3. What to do when doing the experiment?
Working carefully, seriously, avoid joking in the laboratory, multiply the discussion during the experiment,
4. do not hesitate to ask if it does not understand, note carefully the results of the experiment, record the results of an experiment in trying to do as possible and as honest as possible.
5. What to watch while working?
Working in the laboratory have to be careful, watch what the gas canister in a closed condition before and after the experiment, be careful with fire to prevent the occurrence of fire, wear closed shoes, lab coat, and goggles when doing experiments. When using electric instruments consider whether the cables have been neat and in good shape, notice also tap water after and before doing the work must be in closed
6. What to do when an accident occurs?
Do not panic, you tell your friends, give first aid, take the hospital if things are not possible.
